2022

Asbri Transport have had quite a year.

We’ve advised and successfully provided transport planning services to several national house builders and many social housing providers, 4 major new school applications, several drive-throughs and processed 3 x S247 highway stopping up applications. We’ve also contributed to several LDP reps.

We have advised 2 health boards in Wales on important NHS developments.

In addition, we continue our travel planning activities and are pleased to see many clients now committing to, and implementing TPs with enthusiasm.

Thanks to the team, all our clients, fellow development consultants and LPA & HA officers.

Now it’s decompression time over a peaceful Christmas.

Residential development of 230 dwellings at land to the north and south of Grafton Lane, Hereford.

Asbri Transport Limited are pleased to have provided all transport planning services for Taylor Wimpey Plc for a 230-unit residential development on land near Grafton Lane and adjacent to the A49 trunk Road, to the south of the city of Hereford.

The development will be served by a new signal-controlled junction providing access to the A49 trunk road. It will also deliver a Traffic Regulation Order to allow a section of Grafton Lane in the vicinity of the site to be only be used by pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians.

The project entailed the production of a comprehensive Transport Assessment, technical addenda, a Travel Plan and a Walking, Cycling and Horse-Riding Assessment to DMRB standard, believed to be one of the first undertaken in the UK.

We worked successfully with SYSTRA who undertook VISSIM strategic traffic modelling of the development’s impact on the A49. We were also involved with the safety audit process relevant to the highway works that will provide the development’s access from the trunk road. We led on all transport planning negotiations with National Highways during the extensive planning process.

We have worked collaboratively since 2015 with a multi-disciplinary project team and successfully led all negotiations with National Highways, and Herefordshire Council, the local Highway Authority from scheme inception to conclusion of the outline planning process.
