Project Description:
We are delighted to see another major scheme approved at Planning Committee this week. This time, the Mixed-Use Life Science, Well Being and Sport Building, Sketty Lane Campus, Swansea.
The existing sports pavilion and small ancillary buildings will be demolished and will be replaced by mixed-use Life Science, Well Being and Sport Building.
Asbri Transport were retained by Swansea University to produce a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for the demolition of an existing sports pavilion and replacement with a 3-storey Life Sciences, Well Being and Sports Building.
The Transport Assessment considered junction impact assessment of the development in terms of vehicular and active travel modes and undertook parking surveys of the surrounding car parks associated with the site. An accessibility review of the site by all modes and Personal Injury Collision analysis was undertaken.
A comprehensive Travel Plan compliant with the BREEAM TRA 01 and TRA 02 credits was produced which assessed safe and accessible routes to public transport nodes and local amenities. Mode split targets were set and bespoke Travel Plan measures included.
